A way of making Europe

During the period 2000-2006 co-financing was provided as follows:


  • from the Cohesion Fund for track bed works on the Madrid – Valladolid (Valdestillas) section, with funding of 1,573.7 million Euros;
  • from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) for the track and facilities (electrification, signalling and communications) on the Segovia – Valladolid (Valdestillas) section, with funding of 193.3 million Euros;
  • from TEN-T (Trans-European Transport Network) funds, which provided 20.6 million Euros for studies and projects, and for track-bed and track works, on the Valdestillas – Río Duero section.

During the period 2007-2013 co-financing will be provided as follows:


  • From the Cohesion Fund as part of the Operational Programme of the ERDF Cohesion Fund, with estimated funding of 177.5 million Euros for various track-bed, track and facilities works.
  • From the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), as part of the Operational Programme of Castile-León, with estimated funding of 66.8 million Euros for various track-bed, track and facilities works.
