Railway Infrastructure Plan of Rodalies for Barcelona

The Spanish Government, through the Ministry of Public Works, will invest 4,000 million euro for the improvement and promotion of Barcelona’s railway infrastructures.

The Plan will modernise and expand the Network’s capacity. In addition, it will include the construction of 11 new interchanges, more than 10 new stations and modernisation of the rest, making them accessible to people with reduced mobility.

Once this Plan is completed, it will allow 80,000 new citizens to access the Rodalies and its services will be more punctual and reliable, resulting in a 20% journey time reduction.

  • More than 80 kilometres of track duplicating.
  • More than 10 new stations
  • 11 new transport interchanges
  • Modernisation of the current 107 stations

All the measures projected in this Plan intend to reduce and make transfers between lines easier, therefore improving the connectivity with other means of transport.
